City and Colour Remix

Here are two remixes I did last year of original music by Canadian Singer/Songwriter Dallas Green’s music project ‘City and Colour‘. The first remix I made was an unofficial, badly mixed and mastered track which I made without a clean vocal stem (or acapella) and that was for the track “Day Old Hate” which was released on youtube only with no mp3 download hosting. The second remix track was “Fragile Bird” and that was a polished studio remix, where I had a 24 bit vocal wav stem of Dallas Green’s vocals, etc and much more time to put into the track. My Fragile Bird remix was for an official remix competition hosted by Indaba Music where I placed 4th out of over 250+ remix entries in a public vote. Even though the first remix was a low-fi version it seems to be the track that I get the most positive feedback for.. Maybe one day I will sit down and mix it down/master it properly. The style has been described as post dubstep electronica (but fuck genres and labels) in line with the rest of the works from The Star Fusion EP, you can download Fragile Bird for free from my Soundcloud here: http://www.soundcloud.com/5n6
